How Much Weight Should I Gain? The appropriate amount of weight for a woman to gain during pregnancy depends on a couple of relevant factors. What was her weight before becoming pregnant and how many babies is she carrying.

Women who are at a healthy weight based on their size should expect to gain between 25 and 35 pounds. If you are classified as underweight, expect to gain roughly 30-40 pounds.
